under the direction of
Luciano Amarelo.
It is only in appearance that the various areas of performance practice carried out by ATO are distinct. But Theater, Circus, Variety, Comedy are facets of the same process of inner discovery: a discovery of our Being at its deepest, exploring emotions, desires, fears and insecurities, selfishness and altruism, tragedies and euphoria. Everything is raw material for the stage arts, because all this is at the same time the raw material of our lives.
Many teaching methods have been developed by creators and pedagogues in the stage arts. One of the most famous is Stanislavski's system, whose pedagogical system has become a widely known reference of preparation for professional actors. Stanislavski's system was never compiled into a single volume; the author himself recognized that his method should not be seen as a watertight manual, but rather as a point of reflection.
Crossing the practices of classical theater with the valuable teachings of clown and circus arts, a new working methodology emerges. Following the teaching that from the hands of Stanislavski presented a new method for the preparation of the actor, we are preparing to develop a New Method, in the desire to open doors to a new Era of the truth of Being.
The New New Method (Novo Método Novo) is the written record of what is already a new pedagogy and a new way of acting on stage - whether in theater, clown or circus - developed by Luciano Amarelo throughout his work.
